The delegates of the SVP Switzerland will vote on the controversial healthcare reform at their meeting in Aarau this Saturday. The party executive has recommended that the assembly vote against the bill on November 24.
The healthcare reform sparked an internal dispute in the run-up to the meeting of Switzerland's most popular party. In the National Council and the Council of States, the majority of SVP parliamentarians had approved the proposal for uniform financing of all outpatient and inpatient healthcare services (Efas).
Six cantonal health directors with SVP party membership have now written an open letter in support of the "yes" vote on the health reform. A trade union committee had launched a referendum against the bill.
The decision on the slogan is one of the last items on the agenda of the SVP Assembly after the lunch break. Prior to this, the delegates will adopt their slogans on the three other proposals for November 24 that are undisputed within the party. These are the expansion of the highway and reforms to tenancy law.
The program also includes a speech by party president and National Councillor Marcel Dettling on the "State of Switzerland".
