Swiss CEO Dieter Vranckx, who is leaving the Swiss airline in the summer to join the parent company Lufthansa, sees no problem with the upcoming management change. In addition to Vranckx, Chief Financial Officer Markus Binkert will also be leaving this spring and will then be replaced by Dennis Weber. At the same time, Head of Commercial Heike Birlenbach has only been in office since the beginning of the year.

"Nevertheless, I am not worried that the management change could lead to instability," said Vranckx at the annual media conference in Kloten on Thursday. Swiss has a culture of personal responsibility that extends to the individual teams, he said. In other words, the departments make their decisions without having to knock on the door of top management for every step.

"It would be bad if Swiss got into a crisis as a result, and not a good testimony to our management culture," said the CEO. However, not least for reasons of stability, a new management position has been created with the Chief Operating Officer. As is known, Oliver Buchhofer will take over this position at the beginning of May. He is currently already the company's Chief Operating Officer and a member of the extended Management Board.

According to Vranckx, the only question now is who will succeed him. This will probably be announced in the next few weeks.
