Retour au fil d'actualité

The Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Protection (BAZG) has announced the introduction of an electronic version of the annual Autobahnvignette, which will be available alongside the existing sticker version. The price of the vignette remains at 40 Swiss Francs per year. The electronic vignette can be purchased through the BAZG's Via Portal or www.e-vignette.ch, and does not require a user account or personal information. Payment can be made online, and it is optional to make the vignette publicly visible. The electronic vignette is particularly useful for vehicles used by multiple people, as it is linked to the vehicle's license plate rather than to a specific car. The introduction of the electronic vignette was first proposed in 2017, and the Swiss Federal Council approved its introduction as an optional alternative to the sticker version in 2018. The Council can abolish the sticker version if its sales drop below 10%, or approximately one million units. The Parliament has agreed to automated checks of the electronic vignette using fixed and mobile devices, but these will not be carried out on a permanent or widespread basis, but rather on a risk-based and random basis.
