Swiss Post and the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation (SPF) hope to reach an "amicable agreement" in the logo dispute by the summer. The proceedings before the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) have already been suspended.
This suspension is intended to make a negotiated solution possible, the SPS announced on Sunday at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. It thus confirmed a report in the "NZZ am Sonntag".
Swiss Post also expressed confidence "that we will find a good solution together", as it wrote in its response. Neither Swiss Post nor the SPS wanted to disclose what this agreement might look like.
However, Swiss Post is convinced that the two logos can coexist without any disadvantages for either party. For its part, the SPS is still concerned with minimizing the risk of confusion. In this respect, they have not moved away from their original position.
Swiss Post modernized its logo at the beginning of the year to mark its 175th anniversary. Since then, it has consisted of a stylized red Swiss cross with a black "P" on the trademarked Swiss Post yellow.
The SPS complained that this new logo looked too similar to its own, especially in the black and white application. This logo also consists of a cross and a capital P, but in blue on a white background. The SPS therefore initiated opposition proceedings with the IPI.
