Numerous companies around the world are struggling with IT problems on Friday morning after an update to the Crowdstrike cyber security platform apparently failed. However, the Swiss stock exchange operator SIX is not affected, a spokesperson told AWP.

"SIX does not use Crowdstrike," the spokesperson continued. Other companies are less fortunate. For example, the problem is affecting Zurich Airport, which is experiencing delays due to the IT problem.

According to media reports, a bug in a program update from IT security company Crowdstrike was suspected to be the cause. Crowdstrike spoke of problems in a message to customers, as the technology website "The Verge" wrote. The error at Crowdstrike had in turn disrupted Microsoft software, the media reported. The software giant previously reported problems with its 365 cloud service.
