Retour au fil d'actualité
The Bern Spring Fair BEA opened its doors on Friday. Until May 12, more than 800 exhibitors will be presenting themselves at the Bern Exhibition Center.
A highlight this year will once again be the Lunapark with the largest Ferris wheel in Switzerland, writes the organizer Bernexpo. This Ferris wheel is exceptionally located behind the exhibition grounds on the Allmend side instead of in front on Guisanplatz. The reason for this is the construction site of the new festival hall.
Because the old festival hall is no longer standing and the new one is not yet finished, the BEA is also lacking around 10,000 square meters of exhibition space this year, as media spokesman Adrian Erni told Keystone-SDA.
"Everything is a little tighter this year," says Erni. The total area this year is around 140,000 square meters instead of the usual 150,000. Nevertheless, the spring fair aims to score points with entertainment, shopping and knowledge, according to the organizer Bernexpo.
City of Bern explores digital living environments
With the "CityLab Bern" experimentation days, the city of Bern explores the needs of the population in the area of digital development. Visitors can produce Tiktok videos, for example, and learn how to handle personal data in the process. According to a statement from the City of Bern, the "CityLab" replaces the previous Bern Digital Days.
The BEA also aims to provide information on all aspects of security: In addition to the police and Rega, Securitas is now also represented. The three organizations will provide an insight into their work as well as training and career opportunities.
The "BEA spielt" area offers a selection of card, board and strategy games on 500 square meters. To mark the 40th anniversary of the Spielkiste company, folk musician Melanie Oesch gives a fairytale lesson.
The focus of the so-called BEActive zone this year is on cycling. BSC Young Boys will also be present in this area. The tasting stands, for example in the areas of wine and spirits or regional products, continue to be a traditional part of the BEA. This year's BEA also offers daily concerts, DJ performances and marquees in the nightlife area.
