Retour au fil d'actualité

The Swiss Federal Council has passed the regulations for the "Lex Netflix" which will come into effect in January 2024. This law requires online and television services to invest four percent of their Swiss revenue into Swiss film production and to maintain a quota of European films. This is estimated to bring an additional 18 million francs per year to Swiss filmmakers and the Swiss film industry. Exemptions are available for smaller and medium-sized companies with an annual turnover of less than 2.5 million francs, as well as for companies that do not compile their own catalogues but instead use third-party content. All providers, whether exempt or not, must register with the Federal Office of Culture. The law is expected to give a boost to ambitious international co-productions.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
