The Zurich public prosecutor's office has requested pre-trial detention for the 41-year-old Italian man who allegedly fired several shots in Wald ZH on Sunday. He hit a 46-year-old man and slightly injured him.
It remains to be seen whether the compulsory measures court will approve the application for pre-trial detention. This was announced by the public prosecutor's office on Tuesday at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The public prosecutor's office is currently not providing any further information on the exact course of the confrontation and its background. According to reports in various media, the shooter is said to have been aiming at his former landlady. The 46-year-old man, who was ultimately injured, is said to have intervened.
The background is said to be a dispute over money. The incident took place on Sunday morning in front of the Reformed Church. The perpetrator was initially able to flee, but was arrested shortly after midday.
