On the anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine, thousands of people gathered in Bern on Saturday for a solidarity rally. The participants called for support for Ukraine in the humanitarian and reconstruction sectors.

According to a statement from the organizers, Russian war financing via Switzerland must be consistently prevented through the implementation of sanctions. Ukraine needs Switzerland's solidarity more than ever.

The Ukrainian Association Switzerland is responsible for the rally in Bern. It is supported by a broad cross-party alliance that includes left-wing and green parties, but also the center, the EPP and the FDP. Trade unions, aid organizations and the Swiss Reformed Churches are also among the supporters.

The rally participants will gather at Schützenmatte near Bern railroad station and then march through the city to Bundesplatz. Speakers are expected to include various active and former members of the National Council.
