Retour au fil d'actualité

In October, Swiss citizens living abroad in the cantons of Basel-Stadt, St. Gallen and Thurgau will be able to vote electronically. The Swiss Federal Council has approved the requests for electronic voting in the federal elections. It concluded that the use of e-voting in a limited capacity could also be approved for the National Council elections in 2023. The three cantons will gain further experience with the Swiss Post system with the basic approvals for an e-voting trial. E-voting was not available for the federal elections in 2019 due to security issues. For the upcoming elections, only a fraction of all eligible voters abroad will be able to vote electronically. The rest will have to rely on the sometimes slow postal system.nnnnnnnnnn
