Walter Thurnherr, the Swiss Federal Chancellor, announced his resignation, but stated that it had nothing to do with the atmosphere in the Federal Council. He described the current legislative period as the "worst since World War II", due to the various crises that have occurred, such as the pandemic and the CS takeover. Despite this, he praised the Federal Council for its constructive and positive approach to the crises, which has enabled Switzerland to remain relatively stable with low inflation, low unemployment, affordable education and a good healthcare system. Thurnherr also noted the shift in the public mood from fatalism to optimism, but warned that the conditions for social equality must be maintained. He urged society to take responsibility for certain issues, and expressed some skepticism about the prospects for the coming decades.nnnnnnnnnn
