Train services between Chavornay and Ependes in the canton of Vaud on the Lausanne-Yverdon-les-Bains line have been interrupted due to severe weather. A stream overflowed its banks and flooded around 400 meters of the railroad line.

The tracks are under water, SBB media spokesman Jean-Philippe Schmidt told the Keystone-SDA news agency in response to an inquiry.

The disruption began at around 1.30 p.m. and is expected to last at least until late evening. "Our teams are on site to assess the damage and the time needed for restoration," the spokesperson added.
