The H13 cantonal road near Sorte GR is open to transit traffic again from 6 p.m. on Friday evening. As the repair work in the southern Graubünden valley of Misox is still ongoing following the heavy storms, only one lane of the road can be used for the time being.

Traffic on the road section near Sorte GR will be regulated by traffic lights over a length of around 400 meters, the cantonal civil engineering office wrote in a press release on Friday.

Previously, only local traffic was allowed to use the cantonal road. An exception was made for tourists who could show that their destination was in the Misox with a reservation confirmation. Transit traffic was only allowed to use the single-lane A13. This was to keep the cantonal road clear for the numerous trucks and heavy machinery involved in the clearing and repair work.

One lane of the A13 highway was already opened at the beginning of July after the storm caused an entire section of road to collapse. According to the latest estimates, it will take until next fall before the highway can be used again to its usual extent.

With the opening of the cantonal road on Friday evening, all restrictions for transit traffic between Lostallo and Grono GR have now been lifted, according to the Civil Engineering Office. However, the office reserves the right to close the road again in the event of heavy rainfall.
