Trial in Pfäffikon against alleged online stalkers is over

The trial against two alleged online stalkers of former Zug cantonal councillor Jolanda Spiess-Hegglin came to a swift end on Tuesday: One of the accused refused to stay in the courtroom. The judge broke off the trial.
The 49-year-old chiropodist left the room because of a spectator sitting directly behind him. The defendant described this man as a stalker. "It's either him or me," he said. Because the judge refused to put the spectator in front of the door, the accused stormed out of the courtroom in protest.
This has now cost him a fine of 500 francs. The court now has to find a new date for the trial - and once again summon all those involved. The 49-year-old chiropodist and a 79-year-old pensioner have to stand trial for allegedly insulting and defaming former Zug cantonal councillor Jolanda Spiess-Hegglin online over a long period of time.
