The Swiss Economy Reputation Index (SERX) for the third quarter of 2023 has increased by 0.7 index points to 91.6 points. This is due to the improved perception of the Swiss economy, which is attributed to the more positive or less critical opinion climate towards the financial sector. Banks remain the main topic of discussion, with the newly formed megabank Credit Suisse still accounting for around 30% of the media attention. The report from Commslab also states that the inland-oriented banks and insurers have been able to further improve their reputation due to positive contrast effects and mostly solid financial results. Overall, the trust in the Swiss economy has slightly increased in the third quarter, with the financial sector showing signs of recovery after the collapse of Credit Suisse.
