Two dead and several injured in head-on collision in Andeer GR

Two people were killed in a violent head-on collision on the A13 highway near Andeer GR on Saturday afternoon. Several people were injured, some of them seriously, including children, as reported by the cantonal police of Graubünden on Sunday.

The fatalities were a 43-year-old man and his female passenger. The 69-year-old woman who caused the accident and the two children traveling with her were seriously injured and flown to hospital. Another passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance, according to the press release.

The accident occurred at 3.30 p.m. when the 69-year-old female driver was traveling from the south in the direction of Thusis and crossed into the oncoming lane near Andeer. There, her car collided head-on with the car of the 43-year-old passenger car driver.

Traffic was diverted onto the cantonal road for several hours. The public prosecutor's office is investigating the cause of the accident.
