On Wednesday, the Bern-Mittelland Regional Court acquitted most of the defendants in the trial surrounding the new villa built by former ice hockey professional Mark Streit. Two of five construction experts are partially guilty.
The court found the architect and site manager of the project guilty of falsifying documents and of violating the cantonal building law. It also found the foreman of a company specializing in drilling geothermal probes guilty. He had disregarded conditions and therefore also violated the building law.
The lawsuit came about after failed geothermal probe drilling at Mark Streit's new villa in Muri near Bern a few years ago.
