On Sunday evening, two Spanish men aged 18 and 54 were injured with knives during a dispute at a camp of travelling people in Aclens VD. The two men are out of danger. The police identified several suspects and on Monday one of them was arrested in Aclens. An investigation for attempted murder was initiated. A group of travelling people from France with around 130 caravans has been staying on a private property owned by the retailer Denner in Aclens for a week. Before that, they had settled on the Bourdonnette Park-and-Ride in Lausanne. As the city of Lausanne wanted to carry out archaeological excavations on this site, it had to involve the justice system to obtain an irrevocable departure of the travellers. The convoy left the area on 18 September.
