Retour au fil d'actualité

The Swiss labour market remains in good condition, however the number of unemployed people increased slightly in August. The unemployment rate is now exactly at the 2% mark. At the end of August, 89,881 people were registered as unemployed at the Regional Employment Centers (RAV), according to the State Secretariat for Economy (Seco). This was an increase of 2,280 (+2.6%) compared to July, but a decrease of 1,491 (-1.6%) compared to the same month last year. The unemployment rate therefore rose to 2.0% from 1.9% in the previous month. The number of job seekers counted by the Seco in August was 152,317, an increase of 1,644 compared to the previous month, but a decrease of 9,077 (-5.6%) compared to the same month last year. The number of open positions reported to the RAVs decreased by 1,838 to 47,366. Of these, 29,432 positions were subject to the reporting requirement for occupations with an unemployment rate of at least 5%. The instrument of short-time work continues to play a very small role in the Swiss labour market. In June - the data is reported with a delay - 959 people were in short-time work, 313 fewer than in the previous month. The number of affected companies decreased by 13 to 57.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
