The Swiss Parliament has agreed to unify the financing of both ambulatory and inpatient care for healthcare. On Wednesday, the National Council proposed a compromise on the issue of long-term care, which the Council of States and the Federal Council also support. The Council of States has set two conditions for the integration of long-term care into the so-called monism: first, cost transparency must be established in the care sector; second, the care initiative must be fully implemented. Currently, ambulatory treatments are paid for by health insurance companies, while inpatient care is funded at least 55% by the cantons, with the remaining costs covered by the insurance companies. The monism proposal aims to unify the financing of healthcare services, while still leaving some differences.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
