Retour au fil d'actualité

In the Canton of Valais, since April, unknown perpetrators have stolen around 70,000 Swiss Francs using a new scam. They posed as technical support and lured victims with a type of virus. A pop-up window would appear on the victim's screen with a warning and the urgent recommendation to contact the support. However, those who called the given number were not connected to technicians from large computer companies, but to fraudsters. These fraudsters got the victims to visit fraudulent websites and give away their credit card details. The Canton Police of Valais advises people not to give away personal data such as passwords and credit card numbers to third parties. In the last three months, 25 such cases have been reported to the Canton Police, with a total damage of 69,353 Swiss Francs.
