Urs Furrer Elected as New Director of the Chamber of Commerce

Urs Furrer has been unanimously elected as the new director of the Swiss Trade Association (SGV) by the Trade Chamber, the association's parliament, following the recommendation of the SGV board. Furrer is a qualified lawyer who studied at the HSG and has worked as the managing director of Chocosuisse and Biscosuisse, the associations of chocolate and confectionery manufacturers. He is also a member of the FDP and lives in the canton of Aargau. His predecessor, Hans-Ulrich Bigler, retired at the end of June due to his age, while his originally designated successor, Henrique Schneider, was disqualified due to a plagiarism scandal. Furrer is expected to take up his new position on 1 May.
