Ursula von der Leyen welcomes Switzerland’s draft mandate

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Vice-Commissioner Maros Sefcovic have expressed their satisfaction with the draft Swiss mandate. This is an important step towards a new phase in bilateral relations between the EU and Switzerland, the EU Commission President announced on Friday.
According to Sefcovic, the talks have shown "that we are jointly committed to modernizing and deepening our bilateral relations". Closer relations would "benefit citizens and businesses on both sides", Sefcovic was quoted as saying in a press release.
It is now important to keep up the pace "and turn these political commitments into legally binding agreements as soon as possible", the EU Vice Commissioner continued.
