The new V-Cableway from Grindelwald to the Eiger Glacier has not led to an increase in conflicts with nature. This is the conclusion of a study by the Unesco World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch Foundation.
The Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Foundation (SAJA) announced on Tuesday that the flow of visitors was being well managed and was moving close to the planned infrastructure.
The foundation does not believe that the fears of an increased influence of guests on the Unesco World Heritage Site have been confirmed. The Director of Jungfrau Railways, Urs Kessler, welcomed the results of the investigation, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
Jungfrau Railways' new V-Cableway takes passengers in a gondola lift from Grindelwald up to the Eiger Glacier. From there, the cogwheel railroad continues to the Jungfraujoch. The high mountain landscape around the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
