Woman Dies in Serious Traffic Accident in Elgg ZH

A 27-year-old woman died in a car accident in Elgg ZH on Saturday night. The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving. The accident occurred shortly after 10.30pm, according to the Zurich Cantonal Police. The car was travelling from Unterschneit towards Elgg when, for unknown reasons, it veered onto the opposite lane and off the road. The car fell several metres down a slope near the railway line and landed on its roof. The 27-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was arrested after being discharged. The prosecution has opened a case against him for suspected reckless driving.
