On Tuesday, a 48-year-old woman was seriously injured in a boating accident in the Rheinschlucht below Versam in Graubünden, Switzerland. She was part of a five-person paddling group of Austrian holidaymakers who were travelling down the Vorderrhein river from Versam. At the Chrummwag area, one of the canoes collided with a poorly visible rock, throwing the woman and her 10-year-old son into the water. Members of the group rescued the boy and brought him to safety on the shore. The 48-year-old mother was pulled out of the water 200 meters downstream. The bystanders immediately started to perform CPR and alerted the Swiss Air Rescue (Rega). The severely injured woman was flown to the Cantonal Hospital in Chur. The Cantonal Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident in cooperation with the Public Prosecutor's Office.nnnnnnnnnn
