Worker Dies on Construction Site in Fahrweid ZH

On Tuesday afternoon, a 59-year-old worker died in a workplace accident in Fahrweid, Zurich. He was buried under a several hundred kilogram heavy formwork element. The construction worker was working on formwork with two colleagues around 2 pm, according to the Zurich Cantonal Police. When the element was lifted with a crane, the fastening broke and the element tipped to the side. The Cantonal Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office are now investigating how the accident happened.
