The 39-year-old Graubünden native is by far the youngest candidate in the race to succeed the retiring Federal Councillor Alain Berset.

The hall in the Waldhaus in Chur was “packed”, said Joshua Verhoeven, party secretary of the SP Graubünden, when asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency. Around 70 members of the SP had come and assured Pult of their full support.

When Pult announced his intention to run for office in Bern on 2 October, he stressed that he wanted to strengthen the cohesion of the country as a Federal Councillor. In order for the country to function in its diversity, it needs cohesion.
