A 74-year-old German hiker died on Friday afternoon in Val de Bagnes in the Lower Valais. The man fell approximately 150 meters down a steep slope at Les Corbes in the Fionnay region. He was part of a group of hikers on the Tour des Combins when the accident occurred, according to the Cantonal Police of Valais. The rescue team, which was flown in by helicopter, could only confirm the death of the hiker. The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation in cooperation with the Cantonal Police to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
