Switzerland and Morocco Want to Cooperate Closer on Migration

The Swiss government has announced financial support for a project to promote the voluntary return of migrants to Morocco. The project, run by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), aims to facilitate the voluntary return and reintegration of migrants to their countries of origin. Switzerland and Morocco have agreed to form a working group on migration issues, focusing on the prevention of irregular migration, return and reintegration, combating human trafficking, regular migration and strengthening local perspectives. The talks are based on a declaration by both countries in December 2021, which includes increased bilateral cooperation in vocational training and police work.
