Roller Skater Dies in Zurich After Collision with Truck

On Monday morning in Zurich, a scooter rider died after a collision with a truck. The cause of the accident at an intersection is still unclear. The truck had stopped at the intersection, which is regulated by a traffic light, due to traffic. The 52-year-old truck driver then proceeded onto Irchelstrasse towards Winterthurerstrasse. The scooter rider got caught under the truck and was severely injured. He was resuscitated on the spot but succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The identity of the victim is still unknown. The Winterthurerstrasse was closed for several hours due to extensive evidence collection. Two tram lines were diverted.
