The 2019 Swiss National Council elections in the canton of Zurich saw the centre-right parties gain two additional seats. The Social Democratic Party (SP) and the Evangelical People's Party (EDU) each gained one seat, while the Green Liberal Party (GLP) lost two and the Greens one. The SP achieved strong results in the two major cities of Zurich and Winterthur, increasing their voter share by 3.83 percentage points and gaining an additional seat. The centre-right parties also saw an increase in their voter share, up 2.1 percentage points to 8.15 percent, resulting in two additional seats. The Swiss People's Party (SVP) remained the strongest party, with a voter share of 27.35 percent (+0.65 percentage points) and 10 seats unchanged. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) was able to defend its five seats. The Zurich EDU, thanks to a list connection with the measure critics of Aufrecht and Mass-Voll, also gained a seat in the National Council.
