The Swiss have fallen out of the top 30 countries for gender parity according to the Interparliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva. After successful elections in 2019, the Swiss were ranked 15th, but due to departures during the legislature, they have dropped to 28th, behind the Netherlands and ahead of Belarus. From December, the Swiss will no longer be represented among the top 30 countries, with a female representation of only 38.5%. This highlights the need for further progress in terms of gender parity in Switzerland.
