Switzerland No Longer Among Top 30 Countries for Gender Parity: Report

Switzerland has dropped out of the top 30 countries in terms of gender parity, due to the lower proportion of women in the new National Council. The ranking is compiled by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva. Im Anschluss an die erfolgreichen Wahlen 2019, bei denen Frauen eine starke Präsenz hatten, belegte die Schweiz den 15. Platz. Doch während der Legislaturperiode gab es Abgänge, wodurch die Schweiz auf den 28. Platz zurückfiel - hinter den Niederlanden und vor Belarus.
