Daniel Leupi, a member of the Zurich City Council from the Green Party, has decided to not run for the second round of the Zurich Council election. This decision was made in agreement with the Green Party's leadership, in order to support the Green-Liberal Party candidate Tiana Angelina Moser. Leupi had placed fifth in the first round of the election, one place ahead of the Middle Party candidate Philipp Kutter, who has also withdrawn his candidacy for the second round. The Green Party will make a final decision on whether to support Moser's candidacy at a members' meeting on October 30th.

Leupi's decision to not run for the second round of the election is an attempt to prevent the Swiss People's Party candidate Gregor Rutz from being elected to the Zurich Council. By supporting Moser, the Green Party hopes to increase her chances of winning the election and prevent Rutz from being elected.
