The Swiss Animal Protection (STS) Central Board has postponed its originally planned Delegates Assembly for November 4th. Numerous sections had requested the postponement, the STS announced on Friday in response to a query.

Some sections had decided not to participate in the delegate assembly, it was further said. Many delegates had made it clear that they were not in a position to vote on the various motions at this time. A majority of the Central Board then decided to postpone. The CH Media newspapers had first reported on it.

The disciplinary proceedings initiated by the two suspended members and the heated media atmosphere they created led to a great deal of uncertainty among the delegates, the Swiss Trade Union Confederation (STS) said in response to a request from the news agency Keystone-SDA on Friday.

In September 2023, the Central Board of the Swiss People's Party (SP) suspended National Councillor Martina Munz and another board member, ETH agricultural engineer Michel Roux. The two had repeatedly violated the principle of loyalty and collegiality. According to STS, the basis for cooperation was no longer present.

Munz dismissed the allegations as baseless, as she later explained in response to a request. Previously, she and Roux had criticized the leadership style of the association's president, Nicole Ruch, and initiated a disciplinary procedure. In response, Ruch wanted to withdraw from the association's operational business.

The Swiss Tennis Association (STS) announced on Friday that the discussion within the organization must be put back on a factual basis. To this end, the Central Board plans to convene a President's Meeting at the beginning of next year to work out "forward-looking decisions". The Delegates' Assembly will be held within the next six months.
