The wage negotiations between the airline Swiss and its ground staff have failed, according to the union. The airline's management has broken off negotiations and unilaterally announced wage measures.
The wage negotiations were broken off "at this moment", SEV-GATA, the transport workers' union, announced on Friday. Immediately before this, Swiss had agreed a new collective labor agreement (CLA) with the cabin crew.
In a statement, SEV-GATA, VPOD and KFMV explained that Swiss rejects a full general compensation for inflation for all ground staff. The wage measures imposed by the airline would therefore not even cover inflation.
The ground staff union SEV-GATA is demanding a resumption of negotiations. Swiss has not yet issued a statement.
