Alert Swiss warns of flooding in the Reuss in Aargau

Alertswiss warned of flooding in the Reuss near Mellingen AG on Wednesday night. Flooding must be expected.
The warning service advised people to take flood protection measures and not to enter cellars or underground garages.
Alertswiss had already warned of flooding in the Thur in the canton of St. Gallen, in the Rhine near Basel and in parts of French-speaking Switzerland and Valais on Tuesday evening. There was also a risk of landslides in some areas.
Storm "Jasper" had brought a lot of rain to Switzerland by early Tuesday evening. In the Alpine foothills and mountain regions, there was widespread precipitation of between 50 and 70 millimetres. The most rain fell on La Dole in the Vaud Jura until shortly before 5 p.m. with 100 millimetres, as the weather service Meteonews wrote in its blog.
