The Young SVP of the canton of Thurgau has expelled a member who also belongs to the right-wing extremist "Junge Tat". According to a statement, new members must now confirm that they do not belong to any violent groups when registering.

The executive committee examined the facts of the case and decided to expel the member in question from the party on October 31, the Junge SVP announced in a communiqué on Wednesday. This was first made available to the "Thurgauer Zeitung". It will remain a challenge for the party to recognize members of extremist groups as such, the party wrote.

Sonntagsblick" reported in October that the member of "Junge Tat" had worked on election posters for the Young SVP Thurgau. Marco Bortoluzzi, President of the Young SVP Thurgau, told the Keystone-SDA news agency at the beginning of October that the party was distancing itself from "Junge Tat".
