Several hundred liters of heating oil spilled onto meadow in Niedergösgen SO

When filling a heating tank in Niedergösgen SO, around five hundred liters of oil spilled onto a meadow. The contaminated soil was removed after the incident, as reported by the Solothurn cantonal police on Saturday.
According to the authorities, there was no danger to the public. The incident occurred on Friday.
The incident occurred when a heating oil supplier wanted to fill the tank of an apartment building in a residential area. The oil spilled onto the lawn in front of the building. The local fire department then cordoned off an area of around one hundred square meters. The removal of the contaminated soil lasted well into the night. A shaft belonging to the building's tank system was also vacuumed out.
