Dead after an altercation in Gachnang TG

The Thurgau cantonal police have arrested a 49-year-old man. According to a statement, he is said to have been involved in an altercation that led to the death of a 77-year-old man.
The 77-year-old died in an apartment in Gachnang. The police had been called shortly before 1.30 a.m. on Wednesday night due to a violent argument, the Thurgau cantonal police wrote in a statement. Despite the immediate deployment of several police patrols and the rescue service, the man died at the scene.
The two men had a family relationship, explained Roxanne Gräflein at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. However, the media spokeswoman for the Thurgau cantonal police did not comment on the possible cause of death or any injuries found on the victim. It also remained unclear whether weapons were used in the altercation.
The suspect was arrested in the course of a manhunt at his home in Kreuzlingen TG, the press release continued. The criminal investigation department and the public prosecutor's office are investigating.
