Long-distance services to southern Germany continue to be affected on Monday. SBB recommended avoiding travel to Munich. Rail traffic in Switzerland has returned to normal after the onset of winter at the weekend.

The Munich-Zurich route is expected to remain disrupted until Tuesday inclusive, as announced by Deutsche Bahn on its website. Travelers from Zurich to Stuttgart should also travel via Basel and Karlsruhe, the SBB advised. The disruptions are expected to be resolved by 04:00 on Tuesday.

On the Swiss rail network, the line between Bremgarten West and Wohlen AG was interrupted on Monday morning due to storm damage, according to the SBB website. The interruption to the affected S-Bahn line 17 is expected to last until the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Rail traffic came to a standstill in many places in Switzerland over the weekend. In many places, fallen trees or the masses of snow disrupted normal operations.
