The FDP believes that Swiss financial policy must return to a "certain normality". The last few years with high extraordinary expenditure have made us forget the constitutional limits in financial policy.
It is clear that things cannot go on like this, said FDP parliamentary group spokesman Alex Farinelli (TI) on Thursday morning during the budget debate in the National Council.
From the FDP's point of view, the debt brake is non-negotiable, emphasized Farinelli. The principle must be that every new expenditure must be compensated or counter-financed. The Ticino National Councillor objected to the federal government co-financing more and more cantonal tasks.
