The most expensive SRF series to date, "Davos 1917", will be available on the SRF streaming platform Play Suisse from Friday. The broadcast of the historical spy series on linear TV begins on Sunday.

"Davos 1917" tells the story of Graubünden nurse Johanna Gabathuler during the turmoil of the First World War in Davos. Various secret services have gathered there and an agent war is raging, into which the nurse is drawn.

The series is based on true events, as SRG writes in a press release. "Davos 1917" comprises six episodes. The series is a Swiss-German co-production by SRF and ARD Degeto as well as Contrast Film, Letterbox Filmproduktion and Amalia Film.

SRF contributed seven million francs to the series, the industry portal persoenlich.ch reported in advance. The total budget with ARD's share amounts to 18 million. The series was directed by Jan-Eric Mack ("Wilder" seasons 2 and 3), Anca Miruna Lazarescu and Christian Theede.

Dominique Devenport ("Night Train to Lisbon") from Lucerne plays Gabathuler. The series also stars Jeanette Hain ("Babylon Berlin", "Luden"), David Kross ("The Reader", "Trautmann") and Anna Schinz ("Wilder", "Private Banking"), among others.
