Starbucks’ Swiss Expansion: Brewing New Experiences Across the Nation
While the price of Starbucks in Switzerland is quiet high at around $10 per drink.

Presently, Starbucks operates 57 locations across Switzerland. Hungenberg (the new CEO of Swiss Starbucks), in a recent CH-Media interview, expressed a flexible goal: “Reaching 90 would be great, but 80 profitable locations would also be satisfactory.”
Drive-Through Ventures: Inspired by the US model, Hungenberg is exploring drive-through options in Switzerland. These plans are in the negotiation phase, awaiting the right partnerships and locations. The introduction of drive-throughs marks a new chapter in Starbucks’ Swiss journey.
Since taking over as Swiss Country Head in 2021, Hungenberg has been instrumental in revitalizing Starbucks’ Swiss operations. Despite some closures between 2016 and 2019 and the challenges of the pandemic, the company’s sales have rebounded, surpassing 2019 levels. Recent years have seen the opening of four new locations, with seven more planned across Switzerland and Austria.
