Dead woman in St. Margreth solarium died of smoke inhalation

The cause of death of the woman found dead in a solarium in St. Margrethen SG on Monday has been clarified. According to a police statement, the 48-year-old Ukrainian woman died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

This was the result of the woman's autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at St. Gallen Cantonal Hospital, as the cantonal police announced on Wednesday. A violent crime can be ruled out.

The woman was found dead in a solarium on Monday morning. She was in a cabin filled with smoke.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the press release.
