Driver dies in head-on collision in Lichtensteig SG

A 50-year-old driver died in a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Lichtensteig SG on Friday morning. According to the police, the lorry driver was uninjured.
According to current information, the car ended up on the lane half of the truck, as reported by the St. Gallen cantonal police on Friday afternoon. A head-on collision then occurred in the area of the Lichtensteig junction. The car was thrown against the edge of the bridge by the force of the collision.
The truck also crashed into the edge of the bridge. The cause of the accident is still unclear and is being investigated.
