The Italian police have confiscated wines and champagne worth around 160,000 francs at the Swiss-Italian border in Chiavenna. A Macedonian citizen resident in Switzerland did not declare the alcoholic beverages beforehand, as the police announced on Monday.

The man was traveling in a rental car with a driver service. He was charged with evasion of customs duties, VAT and alcohol smuggling.
