Planted Unveils Plant-Based Steak in Culinary Milestone

Swiss FoodTech Planted debuts its planted.steak as well as new fermentation facilities as the plant based steak makes it’s way to your plate.

The planted.steak, is already on the menu at renowned European restaurants and chains. Planted claim they have launched their new fermented steak product. Along with their new steak, Planted are also expanding fermentation facilities in Kemptthal, Zurich. The new facility is expected to create over 30 new jobs.

Crafted from ingredients like soy protein, rapeseed oil, and a unique blend of microbial cultures the planted.steak has been developed with the involvement of 50 restaurants, culminating in a steak unparalleled in the plant-based sector.

The planted.steak’s debut in prestigious establishments, such as Tim Raue’s Michelin-starred restaurant and the popular Austrian chain Le Burger. In Switzerland the planted.steak will be featured on the menus of renowned restaurants including Gartenhof, Lindenhofkeller, Kronenhalle, Café de Prélaz, NOA Restaurant Bern and more.

Its minimal environmental footprint, boasting 97% less CO2 emissions and 81% less water usage compared to traditional beef production, positions the planted.steak as a sustainable and ethical choice for consumers.

Supported by a 2 million Swiss francs grant from Innosuisse, Planted promises to bring a variety of new plant-based meats to market, tailored to local tastes and preferences. The expansion in Kemptthal not only enhances Planted’s R&D and production efficiency but also reinforces its success in the FoodTech space.
