One person slightly injured in helicopter crash in Vétroz VS

When a helicopter crashed on a training ground in Vétroz VS on Saturday afternoon, one of the two occupants was slightly injured. The accident occurred during flight instruction.
The helicopter hit the ground at 1.20 p.m. for unknown reasons and came to a standstill lying on its side, the Valais cantonal police reported on Saturday evening. The 41-year-old flight instructor was slightly injured in the accident and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The 62-year-old student pilot was not injured. The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (Sust) has launched an investigation to clarify the cause of the accident. The criminal investigation is being conducted by the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) together with the Federal Office of Police (fedpol) and the Valais cantonal police.
A few hours earlier, a helicopter had tipped to one side on landing at the Sitterdorf TG airfield. The 30-year-old pilot and three passengers aged between 23 and 60 were uninjured.
